New Clients
Welcome! If it’s your first time here, or getting a massage ever, we want to make sure you know what to expect so you can feel comfortable and prepared.
Before Your First Visit
Before your first visit, please complete our brief New Client Form so we can know a little bit about you and what has brought you to Family Massage & Wellness Center. This also makes sure we can contact you in the unlikely event anything needs to change prior to your appointment.
If you need to contact your therapist immediately prior to your visit, please text or call: 804.986.1116.
On the Day of Your Appointment
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing the day of your appointment; athletic wear, loungewear, or whatever feels right.
We always suggest staying hydrated before and after a massage, so drink up!
When you get to Suite T at your appointment time, you’ll enter our cozy waiting room where you’ll be greeted by your massage therapist. We’ll quickly confirm the details on your intake form and then introduce you to our space on our way back to the therapy room.
Before We Get Started
When we get to your therapy room your therapist will ask a few more questions about the specific challenges and goals you have for your session(s) so we can build your treatment plan and profile. Your therapist will leave the room so you can undress to your comfort level and get under the sheet on the table. If you need assistance due to age or injury, we are more than happy to help position you on the table for optimal comfort. Now you’re ready to enjoy your massage.
After Your Massage
Following your massage, your therapist will take a few moments to talk about what to expect and offer recommendations for getting the most out of your treatment. At this time, we can also schedule any future massage treatments if that makes sense for your plan.
And of course, keep drinking lots of water to help your body optimize the benefits of your massage. A glass of water each hour, tapering as you get close to bedtime is a good rule of thumb.
